First, you may want to familiarize yourself with the bus system. There are local buses that can deliver you to most of the places throughout Algarve.

The main bus terminals can be located in Quarteira, Albufeira, Lagos and Portinos. The price to ride the bus is about 6 euros for a trip from Albufeira to Portinos, which takes approximately 90 minutes.

Trains are available to transport you from the border of Spain to Lagos, as well as up to Lisbon. The train system is reasonably priced. You will find the main train stations in the Algarve on Vila Real St Antonio, which is on the border of Spain. Other locations include Faro and Portimao, which can be found on the west coast.

As with many destinations, the Taxi Cab is also another way a tourist can travel from here to there. You should know that it is hard to stop a taxi on the street. It is better to order from Customer Services at Vila Sol or from the Vila Sol Hotel.
